The CDDO has the lead responsibility to help coordinate services for people with developmental disabilities.
The Nemaha County Training Center (NCTC) has been designated as the CDDO for Nemaha County. NCTC, as the CDDO, will work with other qualified service providers to ensure quality services that are cost effective and easy to access.
NCTC's responsibilities as CDDO will include:
- Providing a single point of entry or contact for people who are seeking services.
- Maintaining a current list of qualified service providers in the county.
- Maintaining a needs list of those waiting for specific services.
- Offering service coordination while the person and/or their guardian are deciding which service and/or provider they wish to access.
- Providing information and referral services to the person seeking services and assisting them as they apply for admission.
- Coordinating the move of people with developmental disabilities who live in state institutions back to their home community when they wish to relocate.
- Working with all qualified service providers within the county to ensure customer driven, quality services. This includes developing services within funding and regulatory and system constraints, working with providers to address issues that arise within the Nemaha County system, and advocating for state and local systems changes when needed.
